I am a novice crafter who started out by making pillow covers then moved onto felt applique pieces like wine bags. In the last while I've been able to broaden my pieces to baby booties, iPod sleeves, giftcard holders, etc. I even have a few pieces in local stores!
Friends have been lucky enough to receive some of my projects. I am inspired by what I see online usually via Etsy and the various blogs I search through.

I love searching through thrift stores and going to garage sales for items to upcycle or restore. These can be wool sweaters that are worn. Or furniture that's been damaged. I've re-engineered wool sweaters by felting them and then making baby booties or pillow covers from them. I've taken skirts from the thrift shops and made pillow covers.
And the best part is to give these items to friends who appreciate a handmade piece that is using recycled materials.
